The spectacular Steinway Piano Gallery of Detroit in Commerce, MI was a perfect setting for Michigan Parkinson Foundation’s Night of A Thousand Stars benefit on Saturday, November 7, 2009. This evening celebrated the progress made toward achieving the dreams and hopes of the Michigan Parkinson Foundation and the Michigan Parkinson community.

The event planning committee (Carol Cummins, Chair; Glen and Carol Kramarich, Silent Auction Chairs; Larry and Paula Foy, Entertainment Chairs; Bill Suminski and Barbara Hardison Hill from Comerica, Volunteer Chairs; Vince Marino, and Steinway owner Tim Hoy and staff) organized this special evening which was attended by 200 guests. We are grateful for their enthusiasm, commitment, skills and camaraderie.   MPF staff, Kelly Jiacobone and Meri Sheen provided expert backup.

Local guest artists kept all enraptured with their amazing talents and beautiful music:  Amy Thomas, Tim Hoy, Gary Francis, Larry Huntington and Duncan Jones of the Coachmen, Drs.Ann Chen and Nickolas Tobin, Steve Richko, Joanne (Skip) Bonds, Carol Sipsock and George Meyers.  Dance lessons by Tara Vernier and piano lessons with Brian Simpson added additional excitement, alongside the silent auction.  Even Santa (Ron Miller) joined in the festivities.  Thanks to sponsors Neal and Esther Zalenko (Room of Notes), VFW Melvindale (Dance Lessons), and Beaumont Hospitals (Music Sponsor), and a special thanks to the Comerica volunteers who join us every year.
