THE MICHIGAN PARKINSON INITIATIVE/MPI  MPI Logo

Since 2000, MPF has been a partner in a collaborative effort with the neurology departments at Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, Henry Ford Health System, St. John Health System, and William Beaumont Hospital to create the Michigan Parkinson Initiative. In 2000, a grant was obtained from the state of Michigan through the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) to conduct clinical and educational programs throughout the state. Grants have been provided by MDCH for the fiscal as further seed money to continue this valuable project.

These programs consist of multidisciplinary second opinion clinics, community educational forums, physician and other health professional education programs.

This unique set of both clinical and educational psrograms taken to local communities throughout the state is the first of its kind in the nation. The model we have developed is being viewed as one that can be extrapolated to other conditions.

SAVE THE DATE:

Multidisciplinary Second Opinion Clinics will be held July 24-25 and in August. Further information to come.

Contact the Michigan Parkinson Foundation 248-433-1011 or 800-852-9781.
